Nude

After painting at Crystal Cove I went to a figure drawing class and did this drawing. I love time in front of a model.

Cottage 13

The most recognizable cottage in Crystal Cove was my focus for painting today. I edited out the nasty fence, other than that it's true to life.

The Lime

Skulls, fruit, and vases are among some of my favorite still-life imagery to paint. I was trying to add some variation to the size of the objects in the composition. As well as add a touch of color with the lime.

Heirloom Portraits

These little gems were commissioned by Linda and David Jones as keep sakes. They were painted from the vintage photos shown. I enjoy painting things of sentimental value because they have the ability to touch peoples hearts. Inquire about getting your loved ones portrait painted.

Montage Gloom

Today was a cold painting experience. The wind was blowing down my neck, but it was worth it. All the gloom made for soft light, which I love.

Painting by Candle Light

This piece was done painting live at the wonderful Livingston Estate. They are very gracious people. It was a spiritual experience painting by candle light.

Grandma's Statue

I remember this statue from my childhood. It was in my Grandma's garden now it's in my Aunt Linda's. It took me a couple of tries to get it right.

Montage Swell

This is the second piece I painted at the Montage on Monday. The water was breaking perfectly on this rock. It's always my goal while painting the ocean to capture the movement of the water.

Montage on Monday

Today I went down to the Montage to paint, it was beautiful. The sun was high and I had Casidey the mini shelty with me. I wanted to find a good spot so we wouldn't be in the way, this rock formation is at the North end of the Montage. It was super fun to hang out with a really well behaved dog while I was working, on break we would run around and play.

Rock Pile

Rock Pile is a great place to paint and surf. Located in North Laguna this place can handle a pretty heavy swell.
